Open call: ‘AI-powered visions for a sustainable future’ UN in partnership with STATE Studio

Text by CLOT Magazine

ONFORMATIVE / Rowen Farrell

How can artificial intelligence (AI) accelerate our progress towards sustainable development and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals?  The future will see large parts of our lives influenced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Machines can execute repetitive tasks with complete precision. With recent advances in AI, machines are gaining the ability to learn, improve and make calculated decisions in ways that will enable them to perform tasks previously thought to rely on human experience, creativity, and ingenuity.

AI for Good Global Summit, the leading United Nations platform for dialogue on sustainable AI development, will address these pungent questions from 4-8 May 2020. And they are launching an international open call to attract a diverse range of AI-inspired art projects to be presented throughout the AI for Good Global Summit 2020 programme.

Applicants may stem from disciplines such as interactive art, performance, computer animation, film, and visual effects, digital communities and social media, hybrid art, data art, and sculptural art. Participation will also bring the opportunity to connect with a global community of AI innovators, problem owners, and sustainable development experts willing to share art and ideas on how to achieve a sustainable future.

To apply to be part of the AI for Good exhibition and art program, you will need to complete the application via the application platform until February 29, 2020.
