MIRA festival, Fabra i Coats Barcelona, 8–10 November 2018

MIRA the digital arts is back in Barcelona. Focused on new trends in digital culture and technology, the festival features a programme comprised of audiovisual shows in both traditional and full-dome formats, digital art installations, 3D sound shows, conferences, presentations and workshops. Taboo-Trangression-Transcendence conference, different locations Mexico City, 11–13 November 2018

The conferences “Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science” include theoretical presentations and artists’ talks focusing on questions about the nature of the forbidden and about the aesthetics of liminality – as expressed in art that uses or is inspired by technology and science. This year’s conference is dedicated to all those who keep pushing the limits further than the next gadget and understand the essential role of fantasy when synchronized with reality. Phonetics residence and festival, Algiers, 12–24 November 2018

An adventurous new digital art festival in Algiers (Algeria) focused on sound art and avant-garde musical practice. The festival also includes a residence that will take place the two weeks before the festival weekend. Focusing on sound as a universal language, able to trigger cultural dialogue, with this initiative Phonetics is aiming to promote this dialogue through artistic collaborations. More info.

 

 

ArtFutura: Humanised Technology, various cities, starting 22 November 2018

The festival of digital culture and creativity exploring the most advanced works New Media, Virtual Reality, Interactive Design and Digital Animation. The new ArtFutura edition starts in Autumn 2018 in more than 20 cities, with special activities in London, Ibiza, Madrid and Alicante. The festival will explore the relationship of humans with technology: What does it mean to be human in the age of technology? And does digital technology adapt to our real aspirations and needs or is it the other way around? More info.

 

 

The New State of the Living, PERMM Museum Perm, 22 November 2018 – 17 February 2018

A large-scale international project in the sphere of art, science and technology. The project will unite under its umbrella an exhibition, in which 20 artists from 10 of the world’s nations will participate, a scientific conference and a three-month-long educational platform. Including artists Theresa Schubert, Saša Spačal, Cod.Act: André and Michel Décosterd, vtol and others. More info.

Technosphärenklänge #6, HKW Berlin, 23 November 2018 

The series of events curated in cooperation with the CTM Festival presents projects and artists that use music and sound to reflect on the existence and state of the Technosphere. The sixth edition of Technosphärenklänge illuminates these new realities and explores the interfaces between humans and machines.
